What is a Gantry Hoist ?
Gantry cranes, bridge cranes and overhead cranes are all types of cranes which lift objects by a gantry hoist which is fitted in an A frame gantry hoist trolley. They can move horizontally on a rail or on a pair of rails fitted under a beam.
An overhead travelling crane, also known as an overhead crane or a suspended crane, has the ends of the supporting beam resting on wheels running on rails at high level, usually on the parallel side walls of a factory or similar large industrial building. This means that the whole crane can move the length of the building, while the pulley can be moved to and fro across the width of the building.
A gantry hoist crane or portal crane has a similar mechanism supported by uprights, usually with wheels at the foot of the uprights allowing the whole crane to traverse. Some portal cranes may have only a fixed gantry, particularly when they are lifting loads such as railway cargoes that are already easily moved beneath them.

Modular's electric chain gantry lifting hoist range is available in capacities from 125kg up to 5 tonne in both single and dual speed options. These are available with standard headroom construction or low headroom with chain diverters.
These products are designed for applications with eye suspension or powered, push, or hand geared trolleys. All capacities are available at Class M5 (FEM 2m) with a wide variety of speeds. All standard models are manufactured with rated capacities in metric tonnes.

Fixed
Modular offers customers a fixed hoist which comes with eye suspension as standard. There is also the option of hook suspension if this is what meets your specific requirements.
With Push Trolley
For companies that require movement - both horizontal and vertical - whilst pushing or pulling a load, the gantry lifting hoist with a push trolley is the ideal option.The A frame gantry hoist with a push trolley allows horizontal movement by pushing or pulling the load. This electric chain system is ideally used for light duty and short travel.
With Motorised Trolley
The A frame gantry hoist with a motorised trolley, operated by a button control pendant which is fitted to the pulley, allows for raising, lowering, forward and reverse movements. This electric chain system is often utilised for heavy duty use.
Low Headroom
The low headroom option is the best solution to get the maximum hook lift. Fitted on a frame with a return sheave system for the chain, the low headroom option has its whole assembly suspended from two trolleys.
